Alberta is one of 10 Canadian provinces, located in the west of the country. Its geography is diverse and ranges from the Rocky Mountains to the prairies, from the lush forests to the desert-like badlands. Edmonton is the capital city in the North and Calgary is the most populated and leading economic driver in the south. I Love Alberta!
- Calgary is Canada's Multicultural Capital
- Calgary is a World Leading Eco-city
- Calgary is Canada's Economic Engine
The History of Alberta
Alberta became a province in 1905 as did its sister province to the east, Saskatchewan. Before then, the first people of the Blackfoot Confederacy, Cree, Sarcee, Dene, Slavey, Beaver, Peigan, Kainai and Assiniboine lived on this land. They hunted bison or caribou. Worked hide. Fished and trapped. They carved stone. Made tools. Made community.
