- Eclipsed in height long ago, and more recently by the Bow, the Calgary Tower is still an instantly recognizable Calgary Icon
In 1968, history was made at the Stampede by these noticeable “firsts”
- Event duration extended to a full 10 days
- Cocktail Lounge at the Big Four stays problem free the full time of the Stampede
- The first quarter horse races are held
