There’s something about Tuesdays that gets most of us thinking about tacos. Whoever made up the idea was brilliant because there’s a catchy vibe to the saying, just like there is for ‘Chicken Wing Wednesdays.’

The next time you’re in for some delicious taco Tuesdays in Calgary, you’ll want to check out any one of these food and drink establishments below. Find some of the best taco Tuesday deals in the city at these fine restaurants!

A1 Cantina

From the founders of Native Tongues comes another top-notch Mexican restaurant and taqueria making waves in the local foodie scene. Located in Britannia just off Elbow Drive on 49th Avenue SW, this hidden gem offers taco deals every Tuesday, but you’ll have to visit to find out what that is!

Not to worry, as A1 Cantina’s array of tacos will get you excited one way or another. Our favourite is the Al Pastor with spit roasted pork, pineapple, white onion, cilantro and lime. We also love the Pescado’s beer batter rockfish topped with chipotle mayonnaise, cabbage slaw, pico de gallo, cilantro and lime.

Chilitos Taberna Mexicana

This restaurant isn’t just one of the best places to drink tequila, but also offers one of the best taco Tuesdays in Calgary. They serve up $3.50 tacos with a choice of chicken, beef or pulled pork.

Grab a shot of tequila and/or mezcal for half price for the full Mexicana experience!

Blanco Cantina

What Anejo lacks in daily specials is more than made up for at its sister restaurant, Blanco Cantina on 17th Ave SW and now also in the Kensington District.

Taco Tuesdays at Blanco feature half-price tacos at $2.75 each and $5 pints of Corona draft beer. Choose from pork, chicken ground beef, mushroom, fish and pulled beef for your tacos.

Salt & Pepper

With multiple locations in different parts of the city, chances are there’s a Salt & Pepper close to you when taco Tuesday comes around.

Instead of selling per taco, they offer an all-you-can-eat taco Tuesday deal that will cost you about $17 a person. This might be the best deal in town if you can eat a lot of tacos!

Unicorn Pub

Get your fill of tacos on Tuesdays at the Unicorn Pub on Stephen Avenue with a Taco-In-A-Bag for just $8. Get this special on Monday to Saturday from 3 pm to 7 pm, almost any day of the week!

The Unicorn Pub is also known for its prime Stephen Avenue location and extensive drink menu, making it an ideal place to watch the game or head out for a night with your friends.

St. James Corner Restaurant & Irish Pub

If you like fish tacos and find yourself in the Beltline, St. James Corner has a great deal for $3.50 per taco. They also serve up a $20 buckets of Corona which evens out to $5 a bottle on Tuesdays.

Located in the First Street Village area, this is a great place to start the night out if you plan on heading out to a lounge later on in the evening as there are many in the area.

Leopold’s Tavern

Leopold’s Tavern is known for its lively atmosphere and unique pub food combinations that will make any foodie salivate. And with multiple locations in Calgary (Beltline, Bowness, Sage Hill), you won’t have to go too far to check out their taco Tuesday deal.

Choose from flour, soft corn and hard corn shells, then choose your taco ranging from beef and shrimp to plant-based and chicken. They even have a monthly taco feature (shown above), a crispy chicken in sweet Thai sauce, coleslaw, spicy garlic sauce, cucumbers and green onion for August of this year. Yum!
