The New Calgary Central Library
At long last the City of Calgary council has voted to build a new central library! This long overdue and badly needed project will be located in the up and coming East Village area east of city hall and could be the kick start to further cultural, educational and entertainment venues planned for the area.
The Calgary Municipal Land Corporation is at the finishing stage of area infrastructure upgrades which have included a totally new river walk, district energy plant, roads, streetscapes, lighting, refurbishing old heritage buildings, a underpass to the Stampede grounds and soon a new island for Calgarians to enjoy named St. Patricks Island.
With 2 new condo projects planning to start sales next spring, the entire area is on the brink of a transformation to one of Calgary’s hottest communities.
A great location with amazing leadership and planning by the CMLC is turning one of Canada’s largest inner city redevelopment into an early success.
