Calgary Gets a New Science Centre!
Nearing the end of October the Telus World of Science will be opening the doors to their new amazing and awesome facility. The new Science Centre will be bigger and a lot more hands on. Children, teens and adult’s alike will find a place where we can all put our imaginations into action.
The new Telus World of Science Calgary will be the first purpose built Canadian Science Center in over 25 years and the second largest Science Centre in Canada! Offering bold new approaches and experiences to learning and ways to engage in science, technology and art.
The 153,000 sq ft ($160 Million) facility will house 5 exhibit halls, (including the fun Children’s Museum) 2 state-of-the-art theatres, a learning centre, artrium and outdoor park!
The new Science Center will be very hands on you will be able to create, try and test stuff out, I imagine it will be much different than the old one, more exciting and fun for everyone.
The new facility’s lobby will be available to rent out for events. The atrium is equipped with wood panels and speakers and can accommodate (stadium) seating for 1,000 or 500 for a formal sit down. The new location by Deerfoot and Memorial Drive also makes a lot of sense as the Science Centre is now close to the Zoo and the LRT!
Did You Know?
The old science center was around for 44 years before closing their doors this past June!
I’m so excited!
