Wedistry

When it comes to unique ideas we like to be on top of things and share with you the best of the best. We recently sat down with Susan from Wedistry, and she shared some of the pros of Wedistry and how it would simplify things for you during one of the most stressful stages in your life.

Wedistry is an online cash registry site for your wedding, making gift giving easy.

Interview with the Owner

How did you come up with the idea for Wedistry?

Susan: Over the last decade I have gone to many of my friends weddings and most of these couples were already living together and had accumulated most of the things you would find on a traditional wedding registry. Weddings are so much fun and one of the less enjoyable parts for me was digging page after page through a wedding registry trying to find a meaningful gift for both the bride and groom. It made me realize that in all the ways that weddings have evolved over the years, the traditional wedding registry simply had not.

Explain how Wedistry works, and the pros of it?

Susan: Wedistry.com is a money gifting wedding registry where couples request guests contribute money towards larger gifts not typically found on a registry; a dream honeymoon, house renovations, down payment on a home, truly custom gifts highly personalized for each couple.

The Pros:

  1. Couples receive money to buy gifts they actually want
  2. Couples don’t have to worry about returning duplicate gifts; yet you can still get duplicate gifts in a wedding registry
  3. It is quick and easy to search up gift ideas that are unique to you
  4. Lowest service fee in the industry (5%)
  5. Couples can share important wedding information and photos with guests
  6. Easily generate address labels for thank you cards after the big day
  7. Easily monitor and collect gift contributions………one less thing to worry about on your big day!
  8. Practical, eco-friendly and more convenient than traditional registries.

What have been the easiest and the hardest parts of being an entrepreneur?

Susan: Getting the motivation and passion to create something that is unique from the ground up all on my own has made a ton of work seem less so. The hardest thing is juggling all of the responsibilities that an entrepreneur must undertake when starting out on their own. However, learning something new every day and challenging myself to take on new tasks I have never tried before has been a great challenge.

What advice would you give to start ups?

Susan: I am not sure that I am the best person to be giving advice, however, if I could go back and change anything, I think would have spent more time focusing on the bigger tasks/issues and less time sweating all the small stuff. I might have got more sleep had I done that!

How has your family and friends support assisted in achieving success thus far?

Susan: My family is the only reason I have achieved the success I have had thus far. My husband has always been my biggest fan in everything I do, and has always challenged me to push harder and dig deeper. My parents also played a huge role in my life. With 2 small children I wouldn’t get anything done without their help.
