Home Staging is an Important Step in Maximizing Your ValueStaged Calgary living room

Listing your home can be one thing, but actually selling it is a whole new process. To get your property sold for the most money in the shortest amount of time, its crucial you start by thinking about your home from the buyers perspective... what you see is what you get, and are willing to pay for.

As the seller, you know all the great things about your home from a day to day lifestyle point of view, and now, that viewpoint needs to be conveyed as best as possible to the buyer. Doing so will help them come up with their own vision for how they will live in your current space.

The best way to do this is staging. It is an important part of helping you get what you want; selling your home in the least amount of time for as much money as possible.

There are several ways you can stage your home for sale. According to the National Association of REALTOR®, staged homes sell 49% faster and for 7-11% more then non-staged homes, this is a powerful statistic.

There are three ways to stage your home:

Option 1.

You are confident with design and are a do-it-yourself kind of person with time to spare. You grab some home magazines, read about staging on the internet and do it 100% yourself.

While there are a lot of guides on the internet and in home-related magazines to help you with staging your home, at the end of the day make sure you go with your gut instinct on choices because like we said above - you know your home best.

Option 2.

You don't want to do absolutely anything and you definitely don't have the time. Solution - hire a staging company to come in and do the entire job for you.

Like any professional service, look for online reviews to find the right staging company for the job. Moving shortly afterwards? Also see How to Find the Right Moving Company today.

Option 3.

You are a mix between person #1 and person #2. Solution, have staging professionals come in for a consultation to give you direction, then have them do some of the work and adjust it accordingly afterwards.

Like we mentioned above, follow your gut. Also if you are using a real estate agent to sell your home, consult them as they will most likely have some extra advice when it comes to staging that they have gained through experience.

  • A smart seller doesn't wonder IF to stage, it is simply a question of HOW.
