 A few kilometres east of Verve is Avli, a new condominium development on “Atlantic Avenue” (9th Avenue SE) in the heart of the Inglewood District. What’s so exciting about Avli? Design, location and unit features to start.

Avli’s bottom 2 floors are to be retail spaces, with double floor townhome units on the 3rd and condos from the 5th to 7th. The building has a limited number of live / work units to be released, the likes of which are seen in other inner city condo developments in Bridgeland and the Beltline. These units make the perfect location for aspiring entrepreneurs or existing retail shop owners looking for high exposure to the public eye on one of Calgary’s most vibrant streetscapes.

In addition to its wicked location, Avli has been designed by Jeremy Sturgess, one of Canada’s leading contemporary architects. Its cutting-edge interiors have been designed by Jerilyn Wright Design. Kings on Fourth is perhaps one of the most anticipated new Calgary condo developments with its mixed-use purpose that gives condo owners the option to use hotel amenities like room / maid service, dry cleaning and the swimming pool among others. However, this project was announced by local developer LaCaille back in 2014 with little or no additional information available on it since then.

Regardless, what we do know about Kings on Fourth is something to be excited about. A 45-floor mixed-use development consisting of 250,000 square feet of top-notch office space, 120 condo units called the “Crown Estates” and a 5-star hotel all in one building…. this is perhaps one of LaCaille’s most ambitious projects in Calgary to date.

Expect LaCaille to make an announcement on Kings on Fourth when benchmark prices in the apartment sector make a recovery of some sort. Until then, we should all hope that this unique project will come to fruition and not be cancelled due to the economic downturn of 2014, which we are just starting to recover from now!
