    Bungalow homes in Calgary are ideal for a full spectrum of buyers. Some of the reasons why we've seen many of our previous clients prefer single-floor layouts over other types of homes:

    • Flexible spaces with lots of room on single floors
    • Less maintenance and upkeep vs. a two-storey home
    • Less stairs for elderly or those with health conditions

    Bungalow homes usually have spacious main floors with developed basements to maximize living space. Most that have been recently built since the turn of the century feature open-concept floor plans which also increases living space for owners.

    Calgary Suburban Bungalows

    Most bungalows for sale in Calgary are built in suburban communities on good-sized lots that allow for spacious floorplans. Areas outside of the downtown and inner city are ideal for this type of property; many of the post-war bungalows constructed in the 1940s and 50s in the city centre are now being replaced by modern infills.

    Some communities in Calgary, like The Hamptons in the northwest and Signal Hill in the southwest, for example, offer retirement-style bungalows in exclusively reserved areas. Empty nesters looking to downsize and reap the benefits of a bungalow lifestyle often look to these properties.

    New communities typically also offer a great selection of bungalows for sale in Calgary from a few select home builders. In Mahogany, for example, new construction bungalow villas are starting in the mid $400s, while existing development of the same type already exist in communities like Cougar Ridge.

    Calgary Rural Bungalows

    Bungalow properties are very common in rural areas surrounding Calgary. In Watermark at Bearspaw, for example, you'll find sprawling estates with luxurious single-floor properties backing out onto ponds and streams.

    South of the Bearspaw area in Elbow Valley Estates, you'll find several of the same style of homes with sprawling single-floor layouts and spectacular views of the mountains to the west.

    Homes with lower height profiles offer more privacy in rural areas where some the eye can sometimes see for miles, which is why many developers sometimes choose to create exclusive enclaves of strictly bungalows near Calgary.
