#1 – Diversity of Real Estate
If you drive down the streets of Killarney, you’ll notice an obvious (but positive) contrast between residences. Many homes that were built decades ago remain while there’s more and more new infill developments being built every month.
This push towards redevelopment has been brought on by home builders and owners alike and has made Killarney’s real estate portfolio as diverse as it gets.
For example, on one street corner there might be an attached new infill home while on the other side an old-construction home ripe for redevelopment.
There’s also a select number of attached condominium-style apartments and townhomes, providing options for inner city buyers from all walks of life who want to explore the idea of living in Killarney.
Infill homes have been Killarney’s bread and butter since the turn of the century. Today, you’ll notice that there’s a wide variety of infills in the neighbourhood from a wide range of home builders.
Also because of the sheer number of homes in the area, there’s typically 50 or more Killarney infills for sale on the MLS® at any given time. This gives infill buyers an awesome selection to choose from!
#2 – Access to C-Train
Many urban workers who frequent the downtown area have found refuge in Killarney and its near-downtown location that offers excellent access to public transportation, allowing them to leave the car at home when commuting to and from work.
On the north end of Killarney there’s the EB Shaganappi Point C-Train Station located on Bow Trail, easily accessible via the crosswalk at 26th Street SW. This is the second stop outside of downtown and gets you to the city centre in less than five minutes when heading eastbound.
There’s also the Westbrook C-Train Station located across the street on the northwest corner of the community.
The downtown LRT terminal connects the West LRT Line with the Northwest, Northeast and South LRT lines with hopefully more to come soon (Southeast Green Line). This makes it easy for Killarney residents to use the C-Train to get to nearly anywhere in the city in a reasonable amount of time.
#3 – Westbrook Mall
While Westbrook Mall may not be known as one of the best indoor shopping centres in the city, it is home to many stores that offer essential day-to-day amenities and services. In short, Westbrook Mall’s amenities make life convenient for nearby Killarney residents.
