This neighbourhood has an incredible location just minutes from the downtown core, river pathways and main city routes. In the community itself, you'll find many of the homes in Elboya are found on hills of varying elevations, providing some with incredible views of downtown and Stanley Park to the west.
Owners of Elboya real estate tend to stay for the long-term because of the community's desirability. It's also a smaller neighbourhood, which means there's typically less than 20 Elboya homes for sale on the MLS® at any time.
The streets in this neighbourhood are designed to disallow access from Macleod Trail S to 42nd Avenue SW. This helps to decrease traffic in the community and makes for a serene ambiance during all seasons of the year.
The City of Calgary annexed Elboya in 1910 as part of the initiative to build more houses as the community expanded outwards from the downtown core. Homes didn't begin construction until 1947, when it became officially recognized as a community.
Like many other inner city areas, Elboya was initially farmland. Today, new infills, luxury home developments and some multi-family projects have now replaced many of the old post-war homes originally built in the area.
